NOTE 1: This mod is not appropriate for stores that need to include tax in their prices (i.e. UK, EU, Australia, etc).  Please refer to UK/EU/AU Taxation instead.

NOTE 2: Ownership of this mod has been passed to Alistair of Develion Ltd for inclusion in CubeCart 3.1.0. Designed for the Canadian tax system, this mod will allow you to setup multiple taxes with a different tax rate for each country and/or state. This mod is also suitable for United States stores (however it only supports taxation by state, not by counties). Tax registration number will be displayed in invoices and emails to the customer.

Taxes can be automatically setup for Canada (note that the tax rates are no longer correct but can easily be adjusted within Admin -> Taxes -> Tax Rates/Zones)

Features:

• Any number of taxes can be setup (eg. GST/PST/HST)
• For each tax, any number of tax rates can be setup for different countries and/or states.
• The tax rate is determined by the customers delivery address.
• Tax registration number/details are displayed on the checkout pages and in invoices.
• Any taxes on shipping are added into the total tax cost (rather than being added into the shipping price).
  
• As long as "Allow shipment to address other than invoice address?" is set to "Yes", only valid states/provinces are accepted for the delivery address (for countries with known states/provinces, a drop down selection box will be provided for the customer to select their state/province).

Notes:

• This mod is not compatible with Goober's Coupon / Gift Card mod.
• Taxes are not calculated until checkout step4 when the delivery address is known.
• This mod may not work with other mods that modify your product prices or cart total. (Contact me if you want to ask about compatibility with specific mods)

Note - Tax on Shipping:

Of the shipping modules that come with CubeCart, the following four are the only ones that currently charge tax on the shipping fees: By Weight, Flat Rate, Per Category, Per Item.

If you are using any of the other shipping modules (By Percent, By Price, Royal Mail, UPS, USPS) and you need to charge tax on the shipping fees, please contact me as you will require a customization to these shipping modules.
